First Level Certificate DILS-PG for Teaching Italian as a Second Language: an opportunity to improve teaching knowledge and skills

The University for Foreigners of Perugia is glad to announce the organization of its first Erasmus+ Staff Week named “First Level Certificate DILS-PG for Teaching Italian as a Second Language: an opportunity to improve teaching knowledge and skills”.

 

The Staff Week will take place in Perugia, in the prestigious historic headquarters of Palazzo Gallenga, from 10 to 13 June 2024, and will specifically address the following topics:

  • Presentation of the First Level DILS-PG Certificate in “Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language”
  • Systematization of basic language teaching knowledge through practical activities
  • The Council of Europe’s tools for teachers of Italian as second language: the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, ​​the Companion Volume and the Italian Language Profile
  • Socio-cultural knowledge
  • Analysis of teaching materials
  • Classroom observation
  • Planning and production of teaching materials
  • Classroom management skills
  • Media Education

 

WHO IS IT FOR

Participation in the event will be reserved for Italian language teachers at universities, public schools, Italian cultural institutes abroad, in a maximum number of 25 units. The event will take place starting from a minimum of 12 registrations. In case the number of applications exceeds the maximum number of participants admitted to the event (25), the selection will be made based on the order in which registrations are received.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Admitted participants will not be charged any tuition fee. Participants will also be offered for free the following services:

  • Cultural activities (guided visit to the city centre of Perugia, transfer and guided visit to the city of Assisi);
  • light lunches in the pauses of the training activities;
  • coffee breaks in the pauses of the training activities.

Erasmus+ funds dedicated to mobility for training purposes – STT action – shall also be used to support all the expenses related to transportation, food and accommodation, accordingly to the European legislation and the specific regulations of each home institution.
