My Experience in Another Country Through Erasmus
I started my internship on June 2nd, where I was introduced to my role as a nurse, though I didn’t have much prior experience. My first visit to the family doctor was a great experience, as I learned many new things that would become part of my future work. Administering injections, handling infusion cannulas, performing ECGs, and measuring all somatic indicators became part of my daily routine. The fast-paced environment taught me how to manage problems quickly and find solutions efficiently. Although I was in my native country, it felt like a new experience, as I had never been part of the nursing team before. The people were kind, and the staff were intelligent and supportive. Anyone joining this program would certainly feel welcomed by the team, as they explained their daily tasks in detail.
I was placed in the beautiful city of Delchevo, a place I would love to return to. The night shifts in the emergency room were the most interesting because of the variety of patients, cases, and diagnoses. Despite the many emergencies, the excellent team of doctors, specialists, nurses, and staff handled everyday problems with expertise. They were my biggest support, having walked the same path as me, and they always wanted to help and explain new things. While some practices differed from those in Bulgaria, I found this month to be one of the best experiences. I adapted to the work environment and now see myself more confidently in the role of a nurse, even with this relatively brief but meaningful experience. Although the health center wasn’t very large and lacked some advanced equipment, the smart and skilled staff managed to handle challenging cases effectively. There are many wonderful places to visit in this beautiful country, and I would love to return whenever I have the opportunity. The Erasmus team made this experience possible, and I’m grateful for every step they took to encourage me to meet new people and learn new things. I finished my internship on September 2nd, marking the end of an important chapter in my life.
