The course is aimed at teaching and administrative staff of higher education.

Level of Spanish required: A2 / B1 / or B2
The objective of the course is both the improvement of the language competence and the common construction of knowledge, fostering an active role of the participants in learning.
The course will also address aspects of the Spain, such as its culture, gastronomy, higher education system, economy and customs.
Dynamic and interactive classes, based on collaborative learning and focused on the practice of linguistic and sociocultural contents through conversation, group work and presentations that students make about their home universities.
The program includes: 18 hours of lecture (morning), coffee breaks, excursion to Segovia (World Heritage City, UNESCO), meetings with UVa staff, cultural visits (old city of Valladolid, National Museum of Sculpture and Contemporary Art Museum, Spanish Gastronomy Workshop at the International Cooking School in Valladolid. The University of Valladolid is one of the leading centers of higher education in Spain. Renowned as thebirthplace of the Spanish language, the city of Valladolid has been home to such prominent historical characters as the navigator Christopher Columbus (dead in Valladolid in 1506) or the writer Miguel de Cervantes, who ended writing and published Don Quixote in 1605 while living in the city (by that time, capital of Spain).
Valladolid is nowadays a modern and safe city just 50 minutes from Madrid by high-speed train and well connected to the rest of the country thanks to its extensive network of buses and trains.
