At a formal ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, a special commemorative edition of a postage stamp was unveiled to mark the 70th anniversary of Bulgaria’s membership in the United Nations (UN).
As part of the event, Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev presented awards to the finalists of the national student essay competition on the theme: “Bulgaria in the UN: The Voice of Small and Medium-Sized States in Global Politics.”
The first prize in the prestigious competition was awarded to Lazarа Prichkapova, a law student at the Faculty of Law and History of the South-West University “Neofit Rilski.” She is also one of our outgoing Erasmus students and participated in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on cross-cultural management in Prague earlier this year. As a proud alumna of our university, we celebrate her success and are truly proud of her achievements.
As the winner of the essay competition, Lazarа will join the Bulgarian delegation at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where she will deliver a speech commemorating Bulgaria’s seven decades of UN membership.
