🎓 Big news from Blagoevgrad! South-West University “Neofit Rilski” has been named an EWP Champion 2025–2027 by the European Commission—for the second time!
📣South-West University “Neofit Rilski” @swu_neofit_rilski has once again earned international recognition, being named an EWP (Erasmus Without Paper) Champion for Bulgaria by the European Commission for the 2025–2027 period. This marks the university’s second consecutive win of the prestigious title, following its distinction for 2023–2025.
On the 9th of September we participated in the 2025-2027 ESCI Champions kick-off meeting at the #UniversityOfGothenburg.
We discussed how to support the further uptake of the #EuropeanStudentCardInitiative at European and national level. Throughout the next two years, we will:
– Share testimonials of our ESCI implementation journey
– Act as multipliers in our countries by attending and organising key events
– Support our peers in adopting ESCI through sharing of best practices
– Follow the work of the 32 ESCI Champions and how we contribute to making student mobility simpler, smarter & more connected.
🏆🇪🇺 The award celebrates SWU’s outstanding achievements in the digital transformation of academic mobility processes under the Erasmus+ program. The university stood out among 123 higher education institutions from 30 European countries, praised for its proactive approach, professionalism, and high-quality implementation of digital solutions.
💻📄Erasmus Without Paper is a flagship European initiative aimed at fully digitizing the administration of student mobility and eliminating paper-based document exchange. SWU “Neofit Rilski” was recognized for its leadership in adopting and advancing this initiative, including:
Seamless digital management of bilateral agreements
Efficient handling of Online Learning Agreements
Modernization of internal systems
Strong support for students throughout the mobility process
