Within Project “2024-1-BG01-KA171-HED-000227981” – Key Action 171 – under the Erasmus+ Programme, funding was approved between South-West University “Neofit Rilski” and Abdelmalek Essadi University, Morocco, in the field of chemical sciences. In this connection, the Department of Chemistry at South-West University “Neofit Rilski” hosted Prof. Fouad El Mansouri and Prof. Tarik Chafik, who delivered lectures to faculty members and students.
Prof. Fouad El Mansouri spoke on a topic related to the physicochemical analysis of bioactive elements and their role in various environmental and industrial processes. Equally interesting was the topic presented by Prof. Tarik Chafik, concerning the application of shells from the fruits of the argan tree (Argania spinosa), which are mainly used as fuel but have promising applications in the production of catalysts, filters, batteries, and supercapacitors.
After the lectures, a meeting was held with the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elena Karashtranova, and the Director of the Directorate of Scientific and Educational Programmes, Prof. Dr. Ivanka Stankova, during which issues related to future joint research activities were discussed.
